7 Reasons You Are Missing Out if You Don't Book Your Cruise With Me

I love booking cruises for clients of my travel agency because I know I’m getting them better perks and experiences than they would get if they reserved on their own.
Real Client Stories
Here are a couple of client stories that illustrate my point:
A couple came to me knowing exactly which Rhine river cruise they wanted. They could have booked it themselves. But they came to me instead, and I saved them $3,100—and got them a complimentary beverage package that covered unlimited beer, wine, spirits, and specialty coffees for the entire trip. I also made sure to secure a sailing date when the water levels on the Rhine wouldn't be too low or too high (a very real problem that can leave ships stuck in certain months).
Another couple was planning their honeymoon on a river cruise. Just as we were about to book, the cruise line notified me of a special: free round-trip airfare to Europe—on a slightly different date. I caught it in time, and they flew to Europe for free.
Some other clients came to me with their cruise to Australia and New Zealand already picked out. Luckily, they hadn't booked it yet. My agency had a special running with the cruise line that included a complimentary private car and driver tour in Wellington. Their driver was waiting for them at the dock when they arrived in Wellington, and they enjoyed a fantastic custom local tour. This special wasn’t available to the public, and if they had booked on their own, they would have missed out. I also coordinated their flights, hotels, and tours with the help of my local contacts before and after the cruise. They had a wonderful time.
Here are seven reasons you are missing out if you don’t book your cruise with me.
1. I Get You a Better Value, Including Perks
When you book with me, you get so much more than if you go it alone:
I block staterooms at lower prices than what you'll often find online
I get notifications if your cruise price drops after booking — with an automated monitoring system not available to the public.
I secure upgraded amenities, private experiences, and exclusive perks because of my special relationships with the cruise lines:
exclusive upgrades
shipboard credits
complimentary hotel stays (before or after the cruise)
complimentary private car and driver in certain ports
prepaid gratuities
exclusive cocktail receptions
a dedicated onboard host to provide VIP service
None of this is available when you reserve on your own.

2. I Help You Choose the Right Cruise
Whether you already know exactly which cruise you want or have no idea where to start, I can help.
Even if you know which cruise you want, I can help. For example, I got the honeymooners in the story above free airfare by working with them to tweak their dates slightly. Or, if you want to sail the Danube or Rhine, I can steer you to the best time of year to avoid extremely high or low water levels (which can ruin a river cruise).
If you don’t know where to start, I hear you. There are dozens of cruise companies to choose from, and hundreds of itineraries. The choices can be overwhelming. Lucky for you, I specialize in exactly this.
I know the finest cruise lines in the world personally: their services, amenities, itineraries, and the subtle differences that make one the right fit for you and another wrong. I know which staterooms are worth the upgrade and which aren't.
I use all of my knowledge and expertise to make sure you end up on the right ship, at the right time, and in the right cabin for you.
3. I Can Get You on a Sold-Out Cruise
Yes, really. My agency blocks space on cruises when they first go on sale before prices go up. So if you see a sailing that looks sold out, reach out to me. I'm often holding cabins and can get you on that cruise. This is something you can't do on your own or even with an advisor who doesn't have space blocked.
4. White-Glove Service Throughout
Booking with me is completely different from booking on your own because I take care of everything—all you have to do is look forward to your vacation.
Before You Go
I get to know you personally. I walk you through the process and give you choices. I provide a curated, side-by-side comparison of cruise options that includes dates, pricing, itineraries, and perks. I work with you until we find the right cruise line and sailing for you.
I assist with planning any travel you want to do before or after the cruise, including flights, accommodations, transportation on the ground (train, rental car, private transfers, etc.), tours, activities, tickets, and restaurants. I customize all travel based on your specific interests and desires.
I fill out all the paperwork the cruise line requires and provide them with the information they need about you (passport, etc.).
Tours, Excursions & Activities
I find the best activities and experiences, including private tours and exclusive access to sites after hours or in areas that aren't normally open to the public. Sometimes the best choice for my clients is reserving airfare, activities, and more through the cruise line, and sometimes it's not. I provide you with the best options and reserve what is right for you.
If Something Goes Wrong
You will have my cell phone number, and if something comes up while you're traveling, you can reach out to me directly for assistance. No hold music, no call centers.

5. Deep Destination Knowledge
When you reserve with me you benefit from my deep expertise on the destinations you will be visiting and my clout and contacts all over the world
For example, I had clients who wanted to see bears catching salmon at Katmai National Park as part of their Alaska cruise. The problem: cruises don't go there. And the bears only catch salmon there during a specific time window—which happened to fall at the end of their sailing, not before.
I knew both of those things. So I arranged two nights in Anchorage after the cruise, a flight to King Salmon, a floatplane into Katmai, and a guided tour to see the bears—then back out the same way. They got their bucket list item. It just took someone who knew the destination well enough to make it happen.
When you book with me you get someone who understands the destinations deeply enough to build the experience around what you actually want.
Whether it's a once-in-a-lifetime wildlife experience, the right restaurant in a port city, or navigating entry requirements for a remote destination, my experience and contacts around the world mean you get real knowledge, not generic internet recommendations.
6. Your Complimentary Itinerary App
Every client gets a complimentary itinerary app with everything for their trip in one place: dates, times, addresses, phone numbers, flights, accommodations, cruise ship location, restaurants, tours, vouchers, and more. Restaurant recommendations, packing tips, tipping etiquette, a currency converter, and the weather forecast are all in there too. There is no need to search for multiple emails, vouchers, confirmations, or anything else. It's all in the app!
7. I Save You Time (Especially When It Gets Complex)
Researching cruises on your own can take forever. I'm already intimately familiar with the best cruise lines, so I can immediately narrow the field based on what you tell me you want. I give you a curated comparison chart with dates, pricing, itineraries, and perks without you spending hours online.
But where the time savings really become significant is when your trip has any complexity to it. Recently, one of my best clients (a grandfather treating his kids and grandkids) wanted to book seven cabins on an Alaska cruise. I knew immediately which lines to rule out (some are too expensive for a group that size, while others aren’t suitable for kids). One family member gets seasick, so I focused on itineraries through the Inside Passage for calmer waters. I also found round-trip sailings out of Seattle to keep their flights simple.
Then I spent two hours on the phone with the cruise line getting all seven cabins blocked on the same deck, sorted by the specific configurations each family needed. During that call I also made sure to add all of the special promo codes my agency is currently running and saved him over $18,000!
He could not have done that on his own. And even trying would have taken him days.

Ready to Book?
Here are things that don’t happen when you book on your own: the perks, the contacts, the blocked cabins, the $18,000 saved by my two-hour phone call. These things happen for my clients because of my relationships and my expertise that took years to build.
I take on a limited number of clients so that everyone I work with gets my full attention.
If you're ready to experience the difference, I'd love to help you plan your next cruise.
